Updated October 2026 — the federal credits have ended. Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit is not allowed for property placed in service after 31 December 2025, and the 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit is not allowed for expenditures made after that date (IRS guidance). Work done in 2026 does not qualify. State and utility programs are unaffected and are what this page tracks — including the IRA-funded rebates run by state energy offices, several of which are still open.

Most state and utility rebates target the same short list of upgrades. These two qualify for the widest range of state and utility programs above. Note that the federal 25C and 25D tax credits ended for anything placed in service after 31 December 2025 — state and utility rebates are what remain.
